Contentsquare is a Paris-founded (2012) product/UX analytics platform — session replay, zone-based heatmaps, journey analysis, and AI-powered insight into why users drop off, well beyond what GA4 gives you on its own. The company also owns Heap and Hotjar, extending the same underlying analytics reach from enterprise down to smaller teams.

Pricing — what's actually published

Experience Analytics (the core heatmaps/session-replay product) is free up to 200,000 monthly sessions, then starts at $49/month billed monthly or $39/month billed annually. Voice of Customer is free at 100 responses, then $99/month ($79 annually). Product Analytics (the former Heap) is sales-gated even on its free tier — no public price. Pro and Enterprise tiers across all three product lines require talking to sales; real-world contract figures for larger deployments run well into five figures annually.

Who it's actually for

Best fit: agencies running CRO work for clients who need to see exactly where users drop off, not just aggregate conversion numbers — the zone-based heatmaps and AI-driven "struggle analysis" surface friction points a standard funnel report won't show.

The catch

It's priced and built for teams already doing serious CRO work — overkill, and over-budget, for a client site that just wants basic analytics. Even the "published" pricing only covers two of three product lines; real enterprise costs need a sales conversation to pin down.

Closest alternatives: GA4 plus Hotjar for a lighter-weight version of the same idea, or Fullstory, which tends to run 10–20% cheaper than Contentsquare at comparable session volumes in the mid-market segment.
