This Privacy Policy describes how CodersAgent ("we", "us", "our"), operated as a sole proprietor, collects, uses, and protects the personal data of visitors and users of codersagent.com.

1. Who We Are (Data Controller)

The data controller is the operator of CodersAgent, a sole proprietor. Contact: privacy@codersagent.com. We do not have a Data Protection Officer (DPO) as we do not meet the threshold requiring mandatory appointment under GDPR Article 37. However, you may direct all privacy queries to the email above.

2. What Data We Collect and Why

Lead Form Data (Name, email, company, phone, project description, budget): Collected when you submit a quote request. Legal basis: Consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). Purpose: To match you with suitable agencies and forward your brief to those you select. Retention: 2 years or until you request deletion.

Quiz Data (Your answers to matching questions): Collected when you use our matching tool. Legal basis: Consent. Purpose: To calculate your agency match score and display results. We do not use this data for profiling beyond the quiz purpose. Retention: 2 years.

Consent Logs (Cookie preferences, timestamps, hashed IP): Legal basis: Legal obligation (GDPR Art. 6(1)(c)). Purpose: To demonstrate compliance with consent requirements. Retention: 5 years (legal requirement).

Page View Analytics (Page path, country, hashed IP): Collected only after consent where required. Purpose: To understand how the site is used and improve it. We hash all IP addresses — raw IPs are never stored. Retention: 13 months.

3. Who We Share Data With

We share your name, email, company, and project description with software agencies only when: (a) you explicitly select them for a quote, or (b) they are auto-matched and you consent at form submission. We do not sell your data. We do not share data with advertisers. We do not share data with third parties beyond what is necessary to deliver the service.

Sub-processors: Our hosting provider stores data. Our email provider (if SMTP is configured) processes email. These providers are bound by data processing agreements.

4. Your Rights

EU/UK/EEA (GDPR/UK GDPR): Right to access, rectification, erasure ("right to be forgotten"), restriction of processing, data portability, and right to object. Right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

Brazil (LGPD): Right to confirmation of existence, access, correction, anonymisation, deletion, portability, and information about third-party sharing.

California, USA (CCPA): Right to know, right to delete, right to opt-out of sale (we do not sell data), right to non-discrimination.

Canada (PIPEDA): Right to access and correct your personal information.

Australia (Privacy Act): Right to access and correct information.

India (DPDP Act 2023): Right to access, correction, erasure, and grievance redressal.

South Korea (PIPA): Right to access, correction, deletion, and processing suspension.

To exercise any right: email privacy@codersagent.com with your name and email. We respond within 30 days (GDPR) or the applicable timeframe for your jurisdiction. Identity verification may be required.

5. International Transfers

Our servers are located in [hosting country]. If you are in the EU/EEA and our servers are outside the EU, data is transferred under Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as per GDPR Chapter V.

6. Security

We use HTTPS, hashed passwords, hashed IPs, prepared SQL statements, and session security. No system is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach affecting your rights, we will notify you and the relevant supervisory authority within 72 hours as required by GDPR.

7. Children

Our service is not directed at children under 16 (or 13 in non-EU countries). We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be notified via a banner on the site. The "last updated" date will always reflect the most recent version.
