About Agones
Agones is an open-source platform, built on Kubernetes, for hosting, running, and scaling dedicated game server processes — extending Kubernetes with game-server-specific primitives (fleets, game server allocation, health checking tuned for long-lived stateful processes).
Standard Kubernetes workloads assume stateless, easily-restartable services; Agones adds the scheduling and lifecycle logic that dedicated multiplayer game servers actually need (a match in progress shouldn't be killed and restarted like a stateless web pod).
Co-developed by Google and Ubisoft; used by game studios running their own multiplayer server infrastructure on Kubernetes rather than a fully managed game-server hosting service.
